Six development projects under the Tellian constituency are progressing according to schedule, with several expected to enter the tender stage by the fourth quarter of 2026.

Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Hall, and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said four projects are currently undergoing engineering design processes.

“Four projects, namely the Proposed New Mukah Integrated Market & Supporting Facilities, construction of Anjung Ria Senaga, construction of Medan Selera Kala Dana Mukah, and the Mukah Waterfront, are currently in the engineering design stage. All these projects are expected to be tendered in the fourth quarter of 2026,” he said.

He was responding to Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine during the Q&A session.

Dr Abdul Rahman added that the proposed Pantai Petanak coastal erosion control project is still in the process of finalising its alignment and preliminary design.

“This project is also expected to be tendered in the fourth quarter of this year,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said the Batang Mukah riverbank erosion mitigation project between Sungai Penakub and Sungai Tellian has been finalised for implementation and is expected to be completed on Apr 5, 2028.

On the implementation timeline, Dr Abdul Rahman said construction for the projects is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027 after the tender process is completed this year.

“The implementation period for these projects will take 24 months, and they are expected to be fully completed in the first quarter of 2029,” he said.

He also said the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RADDA) will conduct regular monitoring with relevant agencies to ensure the projects are implemented according to schedule.

“RADDA will carry out regular monitoring together with the relevant agencies and ensure that no Notice of Change (NOC) is made after the projects commence to ensure they are implemented according to the planned schedule,” he added.
