PADAWAN: Police have rounded up six suspects believed to be linked to the murder of a man in a car along Jalan Stephen Yong yesterday (Apr 26).
The suspects, aged between 26 and 45, were hunted down at various locations between 4 pm and 5.30 pm.
Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed that a car, a pistol, and 10 rounds of ammunition were seized in the operation.
“Initial investigations found that this group was involved in the shooting incident, and the motive is still under investigation.
“The case is resolved in less than 12 hours, and all suspects are being remanded to facilitate investigations,” he said in a statement.
Mohd Irwan said the incident occurred in the early hours when the victim’s two friends, who were in the same vehicle, brought him and the car to Batu Kawa police station at 5.30 am.
They reported that their friend, who was lying unresponsive inside the vehicle, was believed to have been shot while they were on the road.
Responding officers and paramedics later confirmed the 34-year-old man dead in the passenger seat with a gunshot wound to his head.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
