Six held over organised theft of heavy machinery radiator

MIRI: Police here have cracked an organised theft involving a Caterpillar heavy machinery radiator stolen from a workshop in Krokop, arresting six local suspects in a series of raids.

The case, investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code, stems from a theft reported on January 14 with losses estimated at RM5,300.

Acting on intelligence, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department mounted coordinated operations in Lutong and Miri town centre, leading to the arrests.

Police believe the theft was planned and that the stolen item had already been sold off.

Several vehicles and items linked to the case were seized to assist investigations.

Members of the public with information related to criminal offences were urged to contact the nearest police station.
