KUCHING: Six promising startups co-founded by Sarawakians have been selected to join the second cohort of the Scale Sarawak Programme, an entrepreneurial development initiative spearheaded by Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) in collaboration with Endeavor Malaysia.
Running from May to October this year, the programme aims to accelerate the growth of homegrown startups by providing them with tailored mentorship, capacity-building workshops, and access to global networks.
The selected startups, namely SOL Digital, Belibeli Super App, OINC, Noms Fochun Founders, Kosa Coffee, and Satok Bridge Digital will undergo a six-month journey designed to sharpen their business strategies and scale their operations.
TEGAS Chairman cum Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Deputy Minister, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, said the programme reflects the state’s wider efforts to support digital innovation and entrepreneurship.
“This programme is about nurturing Sarawak’s entrepreneurial talent by equipping them with the tools, guidance and exposure needed to thrive in the digital economy.
“It prepares our entrepreneurs to grow and compete, both locally and globally, in line with the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy 2030 and the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy,” he said.
Now in its second year, Scale Sarawak connects participating startups with experienced mentors from Endeavor’s international network.
Among this year’s mentors are Anisha Sasheendran, founder of One People Team; Yeoh Chen Chow, a long-standing Endeavor mentor; and Darrel Ang, co-founder of CapBay.
In the meantime, Endeavor Malaysia’s Managing Director, Shan Li Tay. stressed the importance of thinking globally.
“At Endeavor, we believe in the power of scaling entrepreneurs to transform communities and economies.
“Through Scale Sarawak, we are excited to help Sarawakian founders tap into a global mindset and build ventures that can grow from Kuching to the world,” she said.
Participants will be supported by a dedicated programme manager and benefit from group mentoring, regular check-ins, and peer learning sessions, all tailored to the startup’s specific growth stage.
TEGAS said the programme is part of its broader mission to build a dynamic, innovation-driven startup ecosystem in Sarawak, positioning the state as a hub for inclusive growth and digital transformation.
