KUCHING: Six teams from Sarawak’s state agencies and government-linked companies (GLCs) will compete in the 1st GLCs & Inter-Agencies Invitational Pickleball Tournament 2025 on November 1 at the MUSCS Pickleball Arena (MPA) here.
Organised by the Dinkin’ Ducks Pickleball Club in collaboration with MUSC Sarawak Pickleball, and supported by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) and Kuching Pickleball Association, the tournament aims to strengthen inter-agency ties while promoting fitness and camaraderie through pickleball.
The competition will feature Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories in a round-robin and knockout format.
Organising committee spokesperson, Mohammad Budiman Madehi, said the event is more than just a tournament, as it also serves to unite Sarawak’s public and corporate sectors through friendly competition.
“This tournament is about bringing people together on and off the court. We hope to inspire more government and corporate employees to pick up pickleball as a healthy recreational outlet while fostering teamwork and friendship across agencies,” he said.
Attractive cash prizes worth RM11,000, trophies and medals are up for grabs, alongside lucky draws and side activities for participants and supporters.
The public is invited to attend and cheer for their favourite teams. The event will wrap up with an awards event attended by special guests, sponsors and community partners.
