SJIS students shine at Cambridge Outstanding Learner Awards

KUCHING: St Joseph’s International School (SJIS) celebrates the remarkable achievements of its students, David Sim Shi Wei and Jonathan Kho Kai Seng, who were honoured at the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur today (Nov 28).

David Sim Shi Wei, a standout scholar in the Cambridge International AS Level June 2024 series, clinched the Top in the World award in Chemistry.

According to SJIS in a press release, this prestigious accolade underscores David’s exceptional academic dedication and the high-quality instruction provided by SJIS educators.

Reflecting on his achievement, David credited the school’s A-Level programme for its comprehensive support, calling his 1.5-year journey a wholesome education experience.

In a similar vein, Jonathan Kho Kai Seng received the High Achievement Award in Information Technology, recognising his excellence in a discipline critical to the modern era. Jonathan lauded SJIS for its hands-on teaching methods, which he said significantly enhanced his understanding of the syllabus.

Principal of St. Joseph’s International School, Br. Robert Teoh shared his thoughts, stating, “We are immensely proud of David and Jonathan. Christopher Chua, CEO of St Joseph’s Private Schools, highlighted the collaboration between students, teachers, and parents, emphasising that such achievements reflect the quality of SJIS’s educational programmes and inspire continued excellence.

The awards underscore the school’s dedication to fostering a supportive and dynamic learning environment. SJIS is now accepting registrations for its February 2025 Pre-University intake, with classes beginning on February 17, 2025.
