DEBAK: The rebuilding project of SJKC Chung Hua Debak has now reached approximately 60 per cent completion.
Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam said the project is expected to be fully completed by June or July this year.
“We have been informed that the project has now reached around 60 per cent progress and is expected to be fully completed by June or July this year for use by students in the upcoming academic session,” he said when speaking at the Chinese New Year 2026 Dinner organised by the Chung Hua Debak Association at Dewan Perpaduan Debak here recently.
In another development, Razi, who is also Saribas assemblyman, welcomed the cooperation of all parties, including government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the local community, to further intensify economic and business activities in the Debak district.
He said the construction of the road from Suri to Tuie has had a significant impact on local economic growth, as it facilitates easier travel for residents from Spaoh and Pusa to Debak compared to using Sungai Rimbas, which previously took about an hour.
“The opening of the new market in Debak has also boosted the business sector and created healthy competition among traders, with several well-known business premises expected to open branches in the district in the near future,” he added.
During the event, Razi also presented contribution cheques totalling RM60,000 to the Chung Hua Debak Association (RM30,000), the Board of Management of SJKC Chung Hua Debak (RM20,000) and the Debak Chinese Charitable Trust Board (RM10,000).
Also present was Betong MP Datuk Dr Richard Rapu, who channelled RM25,000 in allocations under the Betong Parliamentary Constituency Fund 2026 to the Chung Hua Debak Association (RM10,000), the Board of Management of SJKC Chung Hua Debak (RM10,000) and the Debak Chinese Charitable Trust Board (RM5,000) to support local development and community welfare efforts.
