KUCHING: A RM200,000 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2023 project has been approved to upgrade the school hall of SJKC Stampin, Jalan Tun Jugah.
The works include the installation of an LED screen, a public address (P.A) system and general renovation to improve functionality, safety and usability.
The project officially commenced on Tuesday following the handing over of the letter of award by a Public Works Department (PWD) engineer to the appointed contractor, K.D.H. Company, witnessed by Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap.
Yap said the upgrading works will be implemented under the supervision of PWD to ensure compliance with approved specifications, quality standards and project timelines.
During the same visit, Yap also presented a Minor Rural Project (MRP) contribution cheque of RM10,000 to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the school to support school-related activities and initiatives benefiting students and the wider school community.
He said the combined support through the RTP and MRP reflects the state government’s emphasis on education development and addressing community-based needs.
“Upgrading school infrastructure and supporting PTA initiatives go hand in hand in creating a more conducive learning environment while strengthening collaboration between schools, parents and the community,” he said.
Yap reaffirmed his commitment to continue working closely with PWD, school management and parent representatives in Kota Sentosa to ensure education-related projects are implemented effectively and deliver tangible benefits to students.
