KUCHING: SK Bengoh’s robotics team emerged runner-up in the Robomission Junior category at the Sarawak State National Robotics Competition held at SMK Methodist, Sibu, from July 28 to 30.
The school also participated in the Robomission Rookie Primary School category, giving pupils exposure to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), particularly in programming and robotics.
The contingent was led by team manager Aldrin Peter, with Anisa Charisma serving as mentor for the Robomission Junior category and Liew Mei Chen mentoring the Robomission Rookie team.
The Robomission Rookie team comprised Aaronvince Addrriel Lever, Leo Tapuk Carter and Greg Newton John Rakert, while the Robomission Junior team consisted of Leonathan Lai Amzoner Ambros and Rivera Leitizia Eusebio.
The school said participation in the competition aimed to develop pupils’ interest in STEM while building perseverance and competitive skills through robotics activities.
It added that although this year’s result was slightly below last year’s performance due to limited training time, the school remains confident that better preparation will enable the team to achieve stronger results in future competitions.
