KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Dato Mohd Musa here made history by emerging as the overall champion in the primary school category at the UNIMAS Digital Technology Nexus (DigitalNEXUS) 2025 recently.
The event saw three students from the school excelling in the Rising-Star (Primary) category with outstanding entries that brought pride to their school.
According to a statement, Arissa Mohd Farid won a Silver Award, while siblings Haris Haidar and Haziq Haidar received the Special Award Category, and later went on to secure the highest honour for the primary school category – the Vice-Chancellor Digital Nexus Award (Rising-Star Primary).
“This is a proud moment for our school and a reflection of the extraordinary potential of young minds in the field of digital innovation,” said Headmaster Issnu Dollah.
He commended the trio for their creativity and confidence, adding that the victory was the result of persistent efforts by teachers and students, with strong support from parents and the school community.
Issnu also extended his appreciation to the students’ mentors, Hazilah Rashid and Mohd Ariffin Madon, for their commitment and guidance in helping the students shine at a higher level.
The school’s achievement was further bolstered by the active involvement of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and parents themselves, including Haris and Haziq’s parents, Hishamuddin Siri and Hafizan Mohamad Naim, as well as Arissa’s parents, Mohd Faried Haron and Rezina Malik.
“We believe that a child’s success in school should not rest solely on teachers.
“Parents must be active partners in advancing the school’s vision, especially in this challenging digital era,” said Hishamuddin on behalf of the parents.
He urged other parents to work hand in hand with teachers and the PTA to ensure every child’s potential is fully nurtured through sustained collaboration.
The DigitalNEXUS 2025, themed ‘Connecting the Digital Future’, was organised by the Chief Digital Officer’s Office of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
The programme featured participants from various levels, including primary and secondary schools, local and international universities from China, Pakistan, Iran, Yemen and Indonesia.
