BETONG: The construction of a three-storey building worth RM17.9 million at SK Datuk Bandar, Saribas, Debak will commence this February, with full completion expected by February 2028.
According to a report by TVS, Deputy Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam said the project is part of the state government’s plan to develop SK Datuk Bandar as one of the key cluster schools in the Betong district.
“The three-storey building is expected to be completed within 24 months starting this February.
“This is part of the state government’s efforts to enhance educational facilities in the area,” he said during the Land Compensation Cheque Presentation Ceremony for the Paya Bakong Road Upgrade and Debak Section Project, held at Dewan Millenia, Debak on Tuesday (Jan 27).
Mohamad Razi added that the new building is expected to become a symbol of educational development in Debak and further reinforce SK Datuk Bandar’s status as a cluster school in the district, particularly in Betong Division.
“The state government hopes the project will improve education quality and provide long-term benefits to the local community once fully completed.”
In a separate development, he announced that the Debak Ramadan Bazaar will begin on Feb 18, with 20 stalls provided initially.
“The rental rate for each stall is set at RM10 per day, the lowest ever offered, and the number of stalls will be increased according to demand to ensure the comfort of traders and enliven the Ramadan atmosphere in Debak.”
