SK Kampung Jepak wins Maulidur Rasul school banner competition

BINTULU: SK Kampung Jepak emerged as the winner in the Category A school banner competition, which included private primary schools, in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul celebration here on Thursday (Sept 28). 

The first runner-up and third place were secured by SK Bintulu and Al-Amin Integrated Primary School, respectively.

In the Category B competition for secondary schools, skills centres, and higher education institutions, the title went to the Bintulu Tahfiz Institute, the first runner-up to SMK Baru, and the third place to Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB).

Category C, for mosques, prayer halls, and Village Development and Safety Committees (JKKK), saw JKKK Kampung Jabai bag the title, the first runner-up was the Darul Makmur Mosque Kampung Jepak, and the third place was the Darul Yakin Mosque Kuala Segan.

Category D, focusing on government departments, agencies, and statutory bodies, saw the first place awarded to the Bintulu Regional Forestry Office, the second place to the Bintulu District Education Office, and the third place to the Bintulu Public Works Department (JKR).

In the Category E for uniformed organisations, the champion was the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, the first runner-up was the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) Bintulu, and the third place went to the Bintulu Immigration Department, while in the Category F for private firms, companies, and financial institutions, the winner was the Sime Darby Plantation Bhd contingent, the first runner-up was Telekom Malaysia, and the third place was secured by Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd (BPHB).

The Bintulu Ikhtiar Women’s Club clinched the first place in Category G, which included associations, clubs, and organisations, followed by Sahabat Lorong Munen in second place and PEKIDA (Malaysian Islamic Welfare and Preaching Organization) Daerah Bintulu in third place.

The champions, first runners-up, and third-placers in each category received cash prizes of RM1,000, RM750, and RM500, along with participation certificates.

As for the procession competition in categories A to G, the winners are: SK Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak Bintulu, SMK Kidurong, Darul Makmur Mosque Kampung Jepak, Badan Harakah Islamiah (BAHARIS), Immigration Department, Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd, and Sarawak Orphan Welfare Board (PERYATIM) Bintulu.

All winners received cash prizes of RM1,500 and participation certificates, which were presented by Deputy Bintulu Resident and chairman of the Permanent Committee for Islamic Activities in Bintulu (JTAIB) Abang Zainudin Abang Turkey; deputy chairman of the Bintulu Islamic Welfare Trust (LAKIB), Datu Mohidin Ishak; and chief executive officer of Bintulu Development Authority (BDA), Datuk Muhammad Yakup Kari.
