BINTULU: To nurture a morally upright generation, SK Agama Majlis Islam Sarawak (SKA MIS) Bintulu organised the Leadership Movement Programme: Stop Bullying and Sexual Misconduct 2024 at the school’s Surau An Najah on Monday (Dec 30).
The programme, organised by the Student Affairs Component (HEM) in collaboration with the Discipline Unit and the Counseling and Guidance Unit of SKA MIS Bintulu, is a proactive step toward creating a safe and harmonious learning environment.
Starting as early as 7.15am, the programme was designed primarily to raise awareness among students about the dangers of bullying and sexual harassment.
It also emphasised the importance of building strong character to prevent students from engaging in misconduct that could jeopardise their future.
The presence of the assistant education officer from the Bintulu District Education Office (PPD), Ustaz Mahdi Lamit, and the school liaison officer further motivated the school community.
In his speech, Mahdi called for continuous awareness efforts within schools, at home and in the community.
“Misconduct such as bullying and sexual harassment not only impacts the victims but also affects the overall school environment.
“This programme is a platform to educate and guide students in understanding its severe consequences.”
