BINTULU: The Sarawakku Sayang Programme (SKS) 2026 continues to serve as an important platform in strengthening ties between the state government and the people, with Bintulu Division selected as the third host location for the programme this year.
The three-day programme will be held at the Old Bintulu Airport site from May 22 to 24.
According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the event provides the local community with an opportunity to obtain first-hand information on various government initiatives through the participation of government departments and agencies.
Among the key initiatives that will be highlighted during the event is the Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS), which was introduced in 2025.
Apart from learning more about SKAS 2026, visitors will also be able to access various government services and self-development opportunities through the Sarawak Pavilion, which brings together multiple agencies and organisations under one roof.
Among the main attractions are information sessions on the Sarawak Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES), career opportunities through JobSarawak, as well as consultation sessions with participating government agencies and companies from the oil and gas, energy, industrial, plantation and financial sectors.
The event will also feature various healthcare services, including health screenings, fitness screenings, health exhibitions and free influenza vaccinations for senior citizens.
All services are provided free of charge to help raise public awareness on healthcare and wellbeing.
Throughout the three-day event, visitors can also enjoy a range of activities such as traditional games, e-sports competitions, cultural performances and a People’s Concert suitable for all age groups.
Members of the public will also have the opportunity to watch the live telecast of the Malaysia Cup final between Kuching City FC and Johor Darul Ta’zim at the main tent.
The official opening ceremony of the Sarawakku Sayang Programme 2026 for Bintulu Division will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on May 23 at 10.30am at the main tent at the Old Bintulu Airport site.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof, Sarawak Deputy Premiers, as well as Sarawak and Federal Cabinet ministers are also expected to attend.
The public, especially residents of Bintulu Division and surrounding areas, are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the various facilities, services and activities available throughout the programme.
