MUKAH: The inaugural ‘Slingshot Challenge’ competition is set to enliven Kaul Mukah 2025, offering a total prize pool of RM1,600.

Organised by Kenyalang Slingshot in collaboration with the Youth Wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Balingian, the Mukah Parliamentary Youth Organisation, and the Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (SABERKAS) Balingian Branch, this event promises an exciting competition for slingshot enthusiasts.

According to organising committee member, Tarmizi Karnain, the challenge will be conducted in two categories: the eight-metre and 10-metre events.

“The organisers will provide basic equipment for the competition, such as slingshots, which can be rented for RM5 per category.

“Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment, provided it meets the specifications set by the organisers,” he said.

Tarmizi emphasised that all participants must adhere to the rules established by the organisers.

Any participant found violating the rules, such as using non-compliant equipment or engaging in unfair practices, will be disqualified.

The competition will take place at Kala Dana Beach here on April 26, and will be officiated by Balingian assemblyman, Abdul Yakub Arbi, and Tellian assemblyman, Royston Valentine.

Ahead of the competition, a slingshot simulation session will be held on April 19 at Kala Dana Beach, allowing visitors to try out the activity.

Cash prizes and trophies will also be awarded to the Sharpshooter Man and Sharpshooter Woman in special categories, as well as a surprise category to be revealed on the competition day.

The competition is open to all individuals aged 16 and above.

Participants must complete and submit the registration form by the deadline of April 22.

The entry fee is RM10 per category and must be paid online to the organisers.

For further inquiries, participants can contact registration committee member, June, via WhatsApp at 010-4236272.
