SIBU: The Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) has announced a scheduled improvement works for the existing Sibu Feeder Bus/Sibu Town Bus Transit Point, aimed at enhancing road infrastructure and commuter facilities in the area.

According to a notice issued by the SMC, the project would involve road works and the upgrading of road furniture at the designated transit point.

These works will commence today (Wednesday, June 18) and are expected to continue until July 3, or until the project reaches completion.

The affected area is outlined in the attached sketch plan provided by SMC. Commuters and road users in the vicinity are advised to exercise caution and to follow all traffic management measures in place during this period.

“The Sibu Municipal Council regrets any inconvenience caused to road users during the improvement works and seeks the public’s cooperation and understanding,” said Sait Enggang, acting municipal secretary of SMC.

“The upgrade is part of an ongoing effort to improve public transport infrastructures and provide safer, more efficient transit options for the people of Sibu,” he said.
