PUSA: A total of 35 Smart TV sets and RM58,500 in funds have been allocated to enhance educational facilities and programmes at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pusa.
Batang Lupar MP Mohamad Shafizan Kepli said the Smart TVs, contributed by the Batang Lupar Parliamentary Service Centre, would support digital and interactive learning in classrooms.
“With these Smart TVs, lessons will be more effective and aligned with current educational needs that emphasise technology,” he said.
The contribution also includes RM9,000 for tuition classes to prepare students for the 2025 Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) examination, RM30,000 for the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) fund to strengthen educational and welfare activities, and RM19,500 in incentives for students who achieved A grades in the 2024 SPM.
Shafizan stressed the importance of parental and community involvement in guiding students’ character and monitoring their activities to prevent them from engaging in social problems.
He added that efforts to strengthen education align with the Sarawak government’s commitment to human capital development, including free tuition at state-owned universities by 2026, as well as scholarships and financial assistance for students.
