SIMUNJAN: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sri Sadong is now fully completed and ready for use by teachers and students, said Batang Sadong Member of Parliament, Rodiyah Sapiee.
She said that the school’s reconstruction project, which cost RM28.7 million, was an initiative under the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MoE) and was fully completed on May 16, 2025.
She added that the new building comprises several key components, including a three-storey academic block, a canteen, five units of Class F teachers’ quarters, a security fence, and a main gate.
“With the completion of this new building, it will provide better comfort for both students and teachers,” she said during the Mercy Mathematics: District-level Calculator Usage Clinic Simunjan 2025, held at Dewan Sri Gemilang, SMK Simunjan No. 1 here today.
She added that the school is also equipped with modern learning facilities such as an electronics workshop, manufacturing workshop, science laboratories, computer lab, and design studio.
Meanwhile on the programme, Rodiyah said that a total of 96 Form 4 and Form 5 Science stream students from SMK Sri Sadong received contributions in the form of scientific calculators.
She also emphasised the importance of mastering calculator usage among secondary school students, especially in preparation for the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) examination.
