
SIBU: SMK St Elizabeth here was on cloud nine as the school continued to shine in the SPM 2017 examination by being the top school in this town for five consecutive years.
The school’s achievement this time with an average grade of 2.66 was even much better compared to in previous years.
In the 2013 SPM examination, it school’s average grade was 2.80, 2014 (2.83), 2015 (2.97) and 2016 (2.66).
Seventeen candidates scored 11As, 12 (10As), 9 (9As) and 13 (8As) in their last year’s SPM examination.
Two of the school’s top scorers are Evelyn Lau Ming Yii with 11A+ and Grace Tang 10A+.
The school principal, Clement Chieng attributed the school’s excellent performance to its holistic plan.
“Our constant vision is to achieve an average grade of below 3.0. We have been grooming the girls to have excellent characters and provide them with a balance school life where they have to get involved in social, spiritual and recreational activities besides academic studies,” he said.
The school was also proud to receive moral support from the parents who were also monitoring their girls’ academic performance.
“Our team of teachers and workers are very professional, diligent and committed to sustaining the ethos, academic and co-curricular excellence of the school,” Chieng pointed out.
