MIRI: Sarawak Oil Palms Bhd (SOP) brought together its Indonesian expatriate employees and their families across Sarawak to mark Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day with a day of spirited celebration.
The commemoration, held simultaneously at SOP’s estates and operating units, was filled with traditional games, patriotic songs, and community activities aimed at strengthening bonds among staff.
SOP said the occasion was not only a tribute to Indonesia’s milestone anniversary but also an expression of the company’s commitment to inclusivity within its multinational workforce.
“As a company with a diverse workforce, we recognise the importance of supporting our expatriate employees in celebrating meaningful national occasions,” said Agnes Nyelang, the company’s senior public relations manager.
“Marking this Independence Day together not only honours their patriotism but also reinforces our commitment to their well-being and sense of belonging within the SOP family.”
The celebrations are part of the company’s wider effort to nurture togetherness and provide platforms for employees to share cultural traditions across its operations in Sarawak.
