SRI AMAN: Southern Zone boxers stamped their authority at the Sarawak Games (SUKSAR) IV, topping the medal standings after two days of intense bouts at the Sri Aman Indoor Stadium Sports Complex.

Competing from Feb 5–6, the boxing event brought together young fighters from the four zones, serving as a key platform to assess Sarawak’s talent depth ahead of the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in August in Selangor.

The Southern Zone emerged as the standout contingent, securing eight gold medals to finish with a total of 10 medals, underlining their dominance across several weight categories.

The Western Zone recorded the highest overall medal tally with 12 medals, comprising one gold, five silver and six bronze medals, reflecting strong consistency throughout the competition.

Central followed closely with 11 medals, including one gold, while Northern rounded off the standings with nine medals, buoyed by solid bronze medal performances.

The medal presentation ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, together with Sarawak Amateur Boxing Association (SABA) deputy president Datuk Johnny Ting Su King and Sri Aman Division Resident Mahra Salleh.
