SRI AMAN: Southern Zone and Central Zone emerged as champions in the women’s and men’s basketball competitions respectively at the Sarawak Games (SUKSAR) IV, 2026.
The basketball courts at Mini Stadium Majlis Daerah Sri Aman (MDSA) witnessed thrilling action throughout four days from Feb 5 to 8.
In the women’s category, Southern Zone displayed strong dominance with an 80-49 victory over Northern Zone.
Despite Northern Zone’s effort to close the gap early on, Southern Zone pulled away decisively in the final quarter to claim the top spot.
Central Zone rounded out the podium in third place.
Meanwhile, the men’s competition saw Central Zone overturn an early deficit to secure a 65-50 win against Southern Zone.
With a strong comeback from the second quarter onwards, Central Zone maintained control to seal the title.
Northern Zone secured third place.
The exciting basketball showdown highlighted the competitive spirit and growing talent across Sarawak’s zones, showcasing potential stars for the upcoming Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in August.
