Southern Zone’s Lim endures gruelling 116 km to win SUKSAR IV road race

BETONG: Southern Zone rider, Kenny Lim Zhen Xiang, clinched the men’s road race title at the Sarawak Games (SUKSAR) IV 2026 cycling competition here today (Feb 5).

He powered through the demanding 116-kilometre (km) course to secure victory, digging deep to overcome unexpected challenges along the way.

Kenny topped the field of 21 riders, clocking 3:16:45 with an average speed of 35.4km/h to claim gold in the cycling event.

Teammate Ong Wei Jie completed a strong one-two finish for the Southern Zone, finishing second in 3:23:07, 6 minutes and 22 seconds behind the winner.

Ryan Ting Ze Xiang of the Northern Zone took bronze in 3:23:14, while Mohamad Ehsan Abdullah Sahari of the Western Zone placed fourth in 3:23:55, 7 minutes and 10 seconds off the winning time.

The men’s road race was among the highlight events of SUKSAR IV 2026 in Betong.

It featured a challenging route marked by undulating terrain and extended uphill stretches that tested both endurance and race tactics.
