A BRIEF moment of humour marked the end of the one-hour question-and-answer session at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today when Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar playfully teased Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Liwan Lagang over his “dramatic” delivery.

Liwan was responding to Billy Sujang (GPS-Opar), who asked whether 23 villages along the Lundu–Sematan main pipeline would be connected to treated water once the Lundu Water Treatment Plant, which has been approved for construction.
After Liwan delivered his reply in an animated tone, Asfia remarked: “Dengan jawapan yang begitu dramatic sekali, maka berakhirlah Q&A kita pagi ini” (With such a dramatic answer, our morning Q&A comes to an end).

Voices of laughter could then be heard across the DUN Chamber.
The question-and-answer session ended at 10.09 am, after which Asfia called upon Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas to proceed with the tabling of the Sustainable Resources and Wastes Management Bill, 2025.
The current DUN sitting is scheduled from Nov 25 until Dec 3.
