LUNDU: Tanjong Datu assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan, presented aid to a total of 30 individuals, including one recipient who received a donation in the form of a wheelchair on Thursday night.
The donation ceremony was held during a breaking-of-fast-with-leaders event and the asnaf contribution handing-over programme for Tanjong Datu, Lundu Zone.
The event, which celebrated the spirit of Ramadan, took place at Darul Ikhwanil Muslimin Mosque, Kampung Sekambal, here.
Political Secretary to the Premier, Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Draup, who represented Azizul, was present to hand over the contributions.
He expressed hope that this humble contribution would ease the recipients’ burden as they observe Ramadan while also helping them prepare for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Earlier, in his speech, he also congratulated the residents of Kampung Sekambal on the successful utilisation of the Ikhwanil Muslimin Mosque, following the completion and handover of the project on January 27.
The project, implemented under the Lundu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIL), was completed with an allocation of RM2.3 million.
