Sports Toto CNY angpow donation campaign to start on Jan 17

KUCHING: Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd will hold its 32nd Annual Chinese New Year (CNY) Angpow Donation Campaign from Jan 17 to 21 next year for the benefit of over 18,000 needy senior citizens nationwide.

The campaign will be officially launched at Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall located at Jalan Maharajalela, Kuala Lumpur on Jan 17.

Sports Toto communications manager, Giam Say Khoon, said the campaign is open to needy senior citizens, aged 60 and above.

Qualified senior citizens who wish to join the campaign launch, were advised to come before 9am and bring along their identification cards for verification purpose, he said.

“The highly anticipated campaign is Sports Toto’s way of giving something back to society in fulfilling our corporate social responsibility (CSR),” he said.

The distribution of the donations would be from 9am to 10.30am on a first-come, first-served basis and no representative would be allowed to collect the donations on behalf of any senior citizen.

Qualified senior citizens at other locations will be required to register on an earlier date before the distribution day.

For those outside of Kuala Lumpur, Giam said they should go to the nearest Sports Toto outlet for registration details.

“One may also go to our website www.sportstoto.com.my or contact Sports Toto’s customer careline at 03-21489779 for more information about the campaign,” he said.

Giam said since the inception of the campaign in 1988, Sports Toto had contributed over RM20 million worth of angpows and hampers to more than 373,000 senior citizens in the country.

The donation campaign is part of the Helping Hands programme, a CSR initiative of Sports Toto to share, give and care for

the community.

Giam said in Sarawak the distribution of angpows would start on Jan 19 in Kuching at Che Hia Khor Moral Uplifting Society, Off Jalan Ellis from 9am to 10.30am and at Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 9am to 10am.

The next day, the campaign would be in Sri Aman, Serian and Bintulu followed by Miri on Jan 21.

In Sri Aman, the distrbution centre is the Sports Toto outlet  in Jalan Durian from 10.30am to 11.30am; Sports Toto outlet in Jalan Pekan Baru, Serian (3.30pm to 4.30pm) and Sports Toto oulet, Jalan Somerville, Bintulu (9am to 10am).

On Jan 21, it will be held at the Sports Toto sales office, Miri-Bintulu Road from 9am to 10am.
