KUCHING: Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd (STM Lottery) is supporting the Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) again by sponsoring RM10,000 for the 2025 Year of the Snake Media Night on Feb 28 at The Theatre Hotel Kuching.
The event, which will host 20 tables, aims to bring media professionals together to celebrate the festive season. Due to limited seating, the organising committee has urged attendees to register in advance.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian will be the guest of honour, while other special guests include Datuk Sri Lau Wei Kiong, Kapitan Datuk Lau Sie Lol, and Dato Sri Vincent Lee, along with several prominent political and business figures.
During the cheque handover ceremony, STM Lottery assistant regional manager Henry Liew reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the media industry.
“Toto has always maintained a great relationship with the media. We hope to build on this foundation and further deepen our cooperation,” he said.
KDJA president Ronnie Teo expressed gratitude for STM Lottery’s continued support, emphasising the positive impact such contributions have on the media fraternity.
“Sports Toto has been a steadfast partner of KDJA, and their support makes events like this possible. This contribution is not just a support to our association but a recognition of the media industry as a whole,” he said.
Apart from STM Lottery, Tay Motors, Nutrigold, and the Kuching Love Book Association are among the other sponsors supporting this year’s Media Night. The organising committee extended its appreciation to all sponsors for their contributions.
“We value and appreciate each and every sponsor for their support. Their contributions not only help us successfully organise this event but also foster greater interaction and development within the journalism community,” he added.
During the ceremony, STM Lottery Kuching B Zone sales executive Florence Loo also handed over sponsored items to KDJA treasurer Chong Kho Lee, while STM Lottery customer service officer John Wong Lee Yee was also present.
