MUKAH: A fire inside a judge’s chambers at Menara Pehin Setia Raja here, was swiftly contained yesterday (Sept 3) after the building’s sprinkler system prevented the flames from spreading.
The incident, which occurred around 5.40 pm, caused no structural damage, although water overflow and smoke led to minor property damages.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Mukah station were dispatched after receiving an emergency call at 5.42 pm.
Checks confirmed the fire only affected a standing fan, which was destroyed.
The flames had already been extinguished by the sprinkler system before the firefighters arrived.
