SIMANGGANG: High stakes and fierce competition await in the Piala Pusingan Kasut Emas YB Dato’ Sri Doris Sophia Brodie, a closed futsal tournament set to energise Sri Aman from Aug 18 to 17.

The three-day showdown, set to take place at the Taman Sentosa Indah Futsal Court, will bring together the top 10 men’s and 10 women’s teams from the local constituency in a battle for futsal glory.

Organised by the Sri Aman P.202 Parliamentary Service Centre, the tournament is exclusively open to players aged 15 to 40 who are either born in or registered voters of the Sri Aman parliamentary constituency. Slots are limited, and early registration is encouraged. The entry fee is RM150 per team.

Champions will receive RM2,200, a challenge trophy, and medals. The runners-up will take home RM1,700, while third and fourth place teams will each receive RM900 and a trophy.

Participants under the age of 18 must obtain parental or guardian consent before joining.

Beyond promoting active lifestyles and nurturing local talent, the tournament also aims to foster community spirit and unity through sport.

Adding to the excitement, the closing ceremony on Aug 17 will include a special performance by popular Iban singer Winnie Albert, a proud daughter of Sri Aman.

Registration forms are available at the Sri Aman P.202 Parliamentary Service Centre. For enquiries, contact 014-8135153 or Kanang Impin at 014-8812606.
