MIRI: NAIM has begun a push to transform Sri Mawar Primary School into a future-ready education hub with the handover of laptops to 22 teachers.

Held on Sept 23, the handover was followed by a training session to familiarise teachers with the devices.

NAIM’s Chief Operating Officer (Education) Datuk Azmi Bujang said the move was aimed at strengthening teaching resources and laying the foundation for the broader expansion of the Sri Mawar education ecosystem.

He also described the effort as the start of a larger transformation.

“This is just the tip of the iceberg. The laptops are an immediate support for teachers, but more importantly, they represent the start of our journey and how committed we are to elevate Sri Mawar into a prestigious and future-ready education hub,” he said.

He added that the initiative reflects NAIM’s wider plan to position Sri Mawar as a leading education provider in Miri by equipping educators with the technology and tools needed for long-term growth.

Meanwhile, in a statement, NAIM said the project is part of its community-building mission to advance education, and it will pave the way for the Sri Mawar Education Centre, targeted to become a world-class international education hub in Miri by 2027.

For the record, Sri Mawar Primary School, established in 1986 and located in Piasau Jaya, is a private co-educational school owned by Mawar Education Centre Sdn Bhd.

Registered with the Ministry of Education, the school provides a focused education within the National Education Policy framework, with Bahasa Malaysia as the medium for core subjects.

Its purpose-built facilities are designed to provide a conducive and effective learning environment

Also present during the programme were Chief Information Officer William Ong and Regional General Manager for Miri Haliza Segar, alongside other corporate and management representatives.
