KUCHING: In a surprising development for Malaysian football, Sri Pahang FC has confirmed their withdrawal from the 2025/26 Liga Super season to focus on internal restructuring and long-term sustainability.
The club cited in today’s statement the need for time to strengthen internal frameworks, laying the groundwork for a more stable and competitive future.
“Sri Pahang FC has made the decision to withdraw from the 2025/26 Super League season as the club requires time to improve and further strengthen its internal structure to ensure a brighter future for Sri Pahang FC,” it said.
While stepping back from the nation’s top-flight competition, Sri Pahang FC expressed hopes of remaining active in the broader development of football across the state.
“Sri Pahang FC hopes to be given the opportunity to participate in the development of football in the state of Pahang in the future,” the statement added.
Sri Pahang extended their heartfelt gratitude to tournament organisers, governing bodies, sponsors, supporters, and loyal fans for their unwavering backing through the years.
“We hope to meet again in the coming seasons.”
