KUCHING: Filipino Chinese muay thai fighter, Ryan Chua Juan, stepped into the cage with calmness, faith and clarity to walk out in the end with a win.
The 18-year-old SS Fighters representative made a strong return to action at the Rentap Fighting Championship today, defeating 29-year-old Ahmad Haziq in their 57-60 kg bout at Plaza Merdeka here.
Despite not having studied his opponent’s style, Chua kept his cool throughout, relying on his training, mental composure, and spiritual grounding.
“Stay calm and relaxed, don’t feel the pressure – have fun. Most importantly, praise the Lord in all ways.
“It feels great to be back in the ring after a long break. I’m excited for my next fight,” he told Sarawak Tribune today.
Chua said training with a wide range of sparring partners helped him prepare for any style.
“I may not have seen how he fights, but I’ve trained with so many different styles that I’m ready for anything,” he added.
His victory marked a confident comeback and signalled the start of what could be a promising rise in the regional fight scene.
