PADAWAN: State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki on Saturday (Jan 31) inspected the proposed site for the state civil servants’ quarters project here which will involve the construction of 24 government housing units at an estimated cost of RM12 million.
The proposed project will be developed on a 4.90-acre (1.983-hectare) site and is aimed at providing more conducive and comfortable housing for civil servants serving in the Padawan Sub-District.
Officer-in-Charge of the Padawan Sub-District Office, Julius Scott Sapong, described the visit as a significant milestone for the sub-district, which began its administrative operations in Teng Bukap, before relocating to its current premises in Braang Bayur.
“This visit is a great honour not only for the Padawan Sub-District Office, but also for all officers and staff serving under the administration of the Kuching District Office and the Kuching Division Resident’s Office,” he said.
During the same visit, Abu Bakar also inspected the proposed site for the Integrated Administration Centre Project for the Siburan District, reflecting the Sarawak Government’s continued commitment to strengthening public administration infrastructure and service delivery, particularly in rural areas.
