MIRI: The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) is set to complete its transition to full digitalisation by June this year, as part of efforts to modernise business services and enhance service delivery nationwide.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the decision to go fully digital stems from the government’s push for a more efficient, transparent, and accessible business environment through digital transformation.
Central to this effort is the introduction of the Malaysian Business Reporting System 2.0 (MBRS 2.0), a phased initiative that began in December last year. By June 1, 2025, physical document submissions will be phased out, and all statutory document submissions must be conducted online via MBRS 2.0. This move will eliminate the need for physical paperwork at SSM branches and offices.

“This marks a significant leap towards strengthening corporate governance compliance and improving the ease of doing business in Malaysia,” said Armizan.
“SSM is proud to support the Madani government’s digital transformation agenda and aims to lead by example in modernising public services,” he added.
He made this announcement during the official launch of the SSM Miri branch office at Miri Times Square today (Apr 27). The event also featured a donation of a Muslim funeral van to a local mosque under SSM’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
The new Miri branch, strategically located in Marina ParkCity, stands out as the only SSM branch nationwide operating from premises owned by SSM itself.
