KUCHING: The Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) Charity Christmas Bazaar 2025 returns on December 7, bringing together the community to celebrate compassion and festive cheer as well as highlighting rabies awareness efforts.

The annual event will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the New Wing of MBKS’ Community Hall, Padungan Road, here.

The occasion will be officiated by Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.

“The Christmas Bazaar has always been a meaningful tradition for us. Beyond fundraising, it is a platform to remind the public about rabies awareness, responsible pet ownership and the importance of keeping our communities safe.

“We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the season while supporting a cause that protects both animals and people,” said SSPCA’s President, Datin Sri Dona Drury Wee, in a press statement on Tuesday.

Visitors can explore a curated selection of festive treats, signature Christmas cookies and cakes, handmade crafts, local favourites and quality merchandise from participating vendors.

All proceeds will go towards supporting SSPCA’s animal welfare programmes, which include rescue operations, shelter care and community outreach.

One of the key highlights this year is the opening of registration for PetWalk 2.0, scheduled for 2026.

In addition, dog owners will be able to receive free rabies vaccinations during the upcoming MBKS Vaccination Campaign with the Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak in February 2026.

The bazaar will also feature cats and dogs available for adoption.

“The initiative supports SSPCA’s mission to reduce stray populations through responsible adoption and education,” Dona added.
