KUCHING: Laughter, shared memories and a simple dinner session set the tone as the Sarawak Tribune team came together to send off their Chief Reporter, Natasha Jee, who is moving on to a new chapter in her career.

The casual farewell gathering was organised by colleagues who have worked closely with her, many of whom described the moment as bittersweet.

With over 10 years of experience in the field, Natasha—well-liked for her approachable personality, teamwork and dedication to accuracy—took a moment to thank everyone for the warm farewell.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone I’ve worked with throughout the years — from top management, bosses and editors, to the DTP team, reporters and colleagues at Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak. Each of you has played a part in my journey and I am truly grateful for the guidance, support and memories we’ve shared. It has been an honour to grow, learn and walk this path alongside all of you.

“Thank you also to the Sarawak Tribune team for organising such a lovely farewell. I am deeply touched by the kindness and thoughtfulness shown. May God bless you all,” she said during the farewell dinner on Friday at the Sarawak Tribune office here.

Soft-spoken and steady, Natasha has long been admired for her calmness, especially on hectic news days.

Colleagues often turned to her when unexpected issues popped up—whether it was a sudden assignment change, a tight deadline or a tricky detail in a developing story. She was known as the person who could find a solution without adding stress to the room.

Her fairness in reporting has also been one of her strongest traits. Natasha consistently strived to present balanced, clear and accurate stories, ensuring every angle was considered.

Her commitment to ethics and professionalism made her a trusted voice in the newsroom and among those she interviewed.

During her time as Chief Reporter, Natasha guided younger journalists, coordinated coverage on busy news days and helped maintain smooth teamwork in the newsroom.

Her calm leadership and experience have made her someone colleagues naturally gravitated toward.

While Natasha’s departure leaves a noticeable gap in the Sarawak Tribune family, the atmosphere was filled with well-wishes and encouragement as everyone looked forward to what she will achieve next.

Natasha leaves with heartfelt thanks and the support of the entire team, who will remember her not just as a Chief Reporter, but as a friend in the newsroom.
