KUCHING: The St Joseph’s Class of ’92 Reunion Dinner, held at Hotel 56 here, brought together 86 alumni and 18 esteemed educators for an unforgettable evening filled with nostalgia, gratitude, and heartfelt celebration.

Organised by Elvin Wee, Alvin Chen, Amrin Anuar and Michael Lee, the event celebrated more than three decades of friendship and the enduring legacy of education that shaped the lives of all who attended.

The evening began on a stirring note with the school anthem, prompting cherished memories among the attendees. Emcee Alvin Chen extended a warm welcome, expressing deep appreciation to the dedicated teachers who helped shape their students’ journeys in life.

Main sponsor of the event, Dr Desmond Tan, delivered an inspiring speech, underscoring the lasting influence of great educators.

“Our teachers gave us not only knowledge, but also values that have guided us through life. Tonight, we honour them and the bonds we forged here that have stood the test of time.”

Dr Tan also paid tribute to classmates who travelled from as far as the United States, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and various parts of Sarawak to attend the special occasion.

The evening was also a time of remembrance, as the gathering paused to honour the 15 classmates who had passed away, ensuring that their memory remained a meaningful part of the evening.

To commemorate this milestone, alumni came together for a cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating both their 50th birthdays and the 33rd anniversary of their graduation, a powerful testament to enduring friendships and shared experiences.

In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, teachers were presented with fruit box gifts in recognition of their unwavering dedication.

A flashback video rounded out the night, transporting attendees back through time and rekindling bonds between teachers and students that remain as strong as ever.

The reunion proved to be much more than a simple gathering; it was a heartfelt tribute to friendship, mentorship, and the lifelong connections fostered at St Joseph’s.
