KUCHING: St. Paul’s Church, Bunuk will officially launch its raffle ticket fundraising campaign this Friday (Nov 28) to support the construction of its new church building at Dewan Serbaguna Kampung Bratan/Asah, Batu 16, Jalan Puncak Borneo.
The launching ceremony will be graced by the Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei, the Right Reverend Datuk Danald Jute; St. Paul’s Church Bunuk vicar Revd. Johnny Lebar; church committee chairman Henry Senok; new church building committee chairman John Rizal Biki; and representatives from the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR).
St. Paul’s Church said the construction of the new building is necessary to address the limitations of the current church, which was built decades ago and is no longer able to accommodate the growing congregation.
The new facility is envisioned to provide a safe, modern and functional space for worship, Christian education, youth development programmes, and wider community activities.
Bishop Danald reminded parishioners that the new church represents more than bricks and mortar.
“It is a lasting symbol of faith, hope, and unity for generations to come,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, a raffle ticket draw will be held on Aug 30, 2026 at 7.30 pm at the same venue.
Attractive prizes await participants, including a grand prize of a Perodua Bezza 1.0 G (Automatic) sponsored by Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin, 10 special prizes worth RM2,000 each, and various consolation prizes such as holiday packages, hotel stays, travel packages, and health screening packages.
Tickets are priced at RM10 per ticket or RM50 per booklet, with all proceeds channelled directly to the New Church Building Fund.
