SERIAN: The St. Theresa Parish Pastoral Council Centre project will benefit parishioners in the future.

The council said the St. Theresa’s Parish Pastoral Centre Fund was launched after the open-air holy mass at the Mini Sports Complex on Oct 1, 2000 by then then Archbishop Datuk Peter Chung together with Rector Vincent Chin and other priests.

“The first of its kind open-air mass attended by thousands of faithful parishioners also celebrated the Parish Feast, closing of the Parish Jubilee Year, launching of the parish logo and launching of the fund,” it said in a statement today.

The project received good response from the parishioners since then.

“However, the project was unfortunately delayed due to the delay of the handing over of the primary school site to the Catholic Mission by the Education Department,” the council added.

The St. Theresa primary school site was officially handed over to the mission on Sept 30, 2021 and the classrooms were dismantled to vacate the land to give away to the project.
