KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd launched its annual Stamp Week 2025 on Friday, unveiling a special ‘Classic Animation’ theme that celebrates Malaysia’s nostalgic 1990s animated series.

Held at the Pos Centre of Development (PosCODE) in Bangi, the launch event brought together collectors, students, educators and industry creatives in conjunction with the national Stamp & Philately Club (KESEF) competition prize-giving ceremony.

“Through this special stamp issue, Pos Malaysia not only celebrates the uniqueness of local art and creativity but also pays tribute to the publishers, illustrators and industry players who have created works that are close to the hearts of Malaysians,” said Group Chief Marketing, Communications & Sustainability Officer of Pos Malaysia, Fiona Liao, when officiating at the event.

The ‘Classic Animation’ stamp collection features four beloved national animated titles from the 1990s, Keluang Man, Anak-anak Sidek, Yokies and Hikayat Sang Kancil, all carefully curated to honour stories that shaped generations.

“The collection is offered as a premium folder set priced at RM71.50, which includes four stamp sheets, one miniature sheet, one first day cover, and one commemorative folder,” she said.

Produced in collaboration with FINAS (Hikayat Sang Kancil), Iconic Animation Studio Sdn Bhd (Yokies & Keluang Man), and Datuk (Dr) Mohmed Misbun Datuk Sidek (Anak-anak Sidek), the stamp series reinforces the legacy of Malaysian animation and its cultural significance.

The collection is available at all Pos Malaysia Philatelic Bureaus, post offices nationwide and online through Pos Malaysia’s official webstore while stocks last.

The launch also celebrated winners of the KESEF creative note design and doodle art competitions, which attracted participation from primary school pupils to Form 6 students.

Supported by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), the One-Page Exhibit category showcased students’ creativity in storytelling, philately and design.

Attendees enjoyed a vibrant lineup of activities, including stamp exhibitions, doodle stamp design competitions, philatelic exploration sessions, stamp folio workshops, and exclusive stamp sales.

Pos Malaysia reiterated its commitment to fostering cultural appreciation among young Malaysians, emphasising that Stamp Week and KESEF play a key role in nurturing future collectors, storytellers and creative talents.
