KUCHING: The State Barisan Nasional (BN) government wishes to congratulate Pakatan Harapan (PH) for its victory in the just-concluded 14th General Election.
In a press statement issued yesterday, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg said that the State government respects the decision of the rakyat.
Even though the State is an opposition government, he added that it would continue to work with the federal government for the benefit of the rakyat in Sarawak in particular and Malaysia in general.
Abang Johari emphasised that the State’s top priority was to reclaim state rights which have been eroded over the years back to Sarawak as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and the Federal Constitution.
“The State Government will closely monitor all the promises as contained in the Pakatan Harapan manifesto in the next five years, particularly those relating to Sarawak,” said the Chief Minister.
