LIMBANG: The State Budget for next year, which amounts to nearly RM13 billion, reflects the Sarawak government’s resilience in the face of global geopolitical uncertainties and international trade challenges that affect the state’s revenue.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said it reaffirms the government’s commitment to continue strengthening physical development, enhancing healthcare services, reinforcing the education system, and improving the skills of the younger generation for the well-being of the people.

“The increase in allocation clearly demonstrates the government’s concern in easing the cost-of-living burden on the people, particularly low- and middle-income groups, while ensuring that the welfare of the rakyat continues to be safeguarded.

“In fact, various facilities continue to be improved, especially in terms of infrastructure and education, in line with the government’s aspiration to ensure inclusive and balanced development is enjoyed by all the people of this state,” he said at the Batu Danau Pre-Christmas Celebration on Saturday.

Meanwhile he also advised the public to remain cautious of propaganda and false information spread through social media so as not to be influenced by incitement and slander that could undermine social harmony.

He stressed that Sarawak continues to uphold harmony among its diverse communities as the main foundation of the state’s stability and progress.

“A multi-ethnic society that respects and cooperates with one another is Sarawak’s strength, reflecting the strong unity consistently emphasised by the state leadership.

“In Sarawak, within our diversity, we have different religious beliefs, cultures and backgrounds, yet we are able to live in a spirit of unity.

“We celebrate this diversity; therefore, we should be grateful and celebrate the blessings bestowed by Almighty God,” he said.
