KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, graciously received a courtesy visit from the Main Committee of the Sarawak-Level Maal Hijrah 1446/1447H Celebration at the Astana Negeri Sarawak today.
According to an official statement by Astana Negeri Sarawak, the courtesy visit aimed to extend an official invitation to Wan Junaidi and his wife to attend the State-level Maal Hijrah Celebration, scheduled for June 26 and 27.
“Bintulu Division has been selected as the host for this year’s celebration, which is expected to be vibrant and meaningful with various programmes, including the Majlis Doa Awal dan Akhir Tahun and the Majlis Perhimpunan Sambutan Maal Hijrah 1447H,” the statement read.
Wan Junaidi expressed his gratitude for the invitation and prayed that this year’s celebration would further strengthen ukhuwah (unity) and deepen Muslims’ understanding of hijrah as a foundation for personal, societal, and state transformation.
The visiting delegation was led by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Commission and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
He was accompanied by Sarawak Islamic Council president Datuk Misnu Taha, Bintulu Division deputy resident Abang Zainuddin Abang Turkey, and Sarawak Islamic Department deputy director Al-Fadhil Ustaz Abang Borhanuddin Abang Ahmad Masuine.
