KUCHING: The exhibition on ‘Gerakan Anti-Penyerahan Sarawak Kepada British 1946 – 1951’ is still ongoing at the Sarawak State Library. The good news is that this exhibition is now extended until 31st July 2017, a media release stated yesterday.
This exhibition displays the days where Sarawak was handed over to British Government which indirectly had encouraged the spirit of nationalism among the local people of Sarawak. Although it took 17 years to declare independence from the British colonial rule, it was apparent that the Sarawakians insisted to have their own government for a better future of their next generation.
Public are invited to visit this exhibition, which is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (Monday – Friday) and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (Saturday and Sunday). It is closed on Public Holidays and takes place at the library’s Special Collection Room, Level 1. Entrance is free.
