KUCHING: The Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) has been urged to strengthen strategic collaborations with various entities to secure sustainable income streams and ensure long-term financial stability.
LAKMNS Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir, said the recommendation was conveyed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during a courtesy call by the board’s leadership at Satria Pertiwi Complex today.
The delegation met Abang Johari to present updates on LAKMNS’ current initiatives, and outline its future plans.
“My colleagues and I were advised to collaborate with several related entities so that we can collectively harness our strengths to generate sustainable revenue for LAKMNS,” Abdul Hadi told reporters at a press conference after the meeting.
He added that LAKMNS is also exploring opportunities within the green economy, in line with both national and state development agendas.
“A mosque is not merely a religious institution but plays a holistic role in community development,” he said.
“If there are opportunities to generate income through sustainable energy sectors, we will explore them.”
