SPAOH: The people are reminded to take the necessary steps to avoid being infected with COVID-19, with its increasing number of cases recorded in the Peninsula and some other countries.
In stating this, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas assured that so far, Sarawak’s number of cases is not alarming.
“But this should not lull us into complacency and let our guards down.
“As we all know, COVID-19 is highly infectious, so let’s take the usual necessary steps, such as wearing a face mask and practising social distance when we are in a crowded area,” he said when attending a breaking fast programme at Masjid Darul Syifa here last night (Apr 15).
Adding on, he reminded that should one develop any fever, it is safe to not assume it is a normal fever.
“Go and see the doctor to ascertain if you have been infected or not. We have medicines and vaccinations, unlike in the early days of the pandemic.
“With that, let us continue to remind one another and watch out for each other,” he said.
Earlier on the day, Uggah and Betong Member of Parliament Dr Richard Rapu visited a number of rural transformation projects in the division.
