KUCHING: Five young cricketers from SK Padang Pedalai have earned a coveted spot at the Girls Under-12 National Training Camp 2025, showcasing Sarawak’s rising presence in the sport.

The players – Marlindya Bangi, Fellixiona Amanda, Lina Vun, Maslyn Ayu, and Christina Miya – will join Malaysia’s top young female talents for the camp, which will be held from August 13 to 18 at Bayuemas Oval, Klang.

They will be accompanied by Libar Isma Abdullah as their chaperone.

Organised to nurture the next generation of national players, the camp will feature intensive training sessions, match exposure, and skill development under the guidance of experienced national coaches.

Sarawak Cricket Association said in a statement recently that the achievement is a testament to the dedication and talent found in Simunjan’s grassroots cricket scene, as well as the support of teachers, parents and local coaches.

“We wish our young Sarawak representatives the very best as they embark on this exciting journey and proudly fly the Hornbill flag at the national stage,” the statement read.

Sarawak’s cricket future is bright with Simunjan’s Under-12 selections.
