KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s banking sector maintained steady growth in September 2025, with total loans expanding 5.5 per cent year-on-year, driven by stronger corporate borrowing and resilient household demand, said CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd.
“Business loans momentum improved to 5.4 per cent year-on-year in September, led by investment-related lending from larger corporates,” the brokerage said in a research note.
SME loans rose 8.1 per cent, outpacing industry growth.
Deposits also expanded 5.2 per cent, supported by stronger current and savings accounts and higher corporate placements. – BERNAMA
