Sting Muaythai Club reigns supreme with double crown

KUCHING: The dominance of Sting Muaythai Club proved hard to match as they were crowned overall champions in both the 10th Edition of the TYT Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Muaythai Championship and the Borneo Cup 2026.

The formidable side, widely regarded for their credibility and strength, secured the overall title in the TYT Muaythai Championship after overcoming close challengers, Muaythai Kenyalang, in second place and Rentap Muaythai in third.

Sting Muaythai Club also emerged overall champions of the Borneo Cup 2026 after an outstanding haul of 35 medals, comprising 22 gold and 13 silver.

They edged past nearest rivals, Muaythai Kenyalang, who finished second with 31 medals (18 gold, 13 silver).

Third place went to DSHA Muayfit Tawau with a total of 29 medals, including 18 gold and 11 silver.

Meanwhile, Rentap Muaythai made their mark by clinching the Mayor’s Trophy of the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU).

The prize presentation ceremony was officiated by Kuching North Mayor, Datuk Hilmy Othman.

Also in attendance were Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) Acting Chief Executive Officer Khairul Nizam Morshidi; Sarawak Muaythai Association (PMNS) President Jumaat Ibrahim, as well as heads of various government agencies.

The four-day championship (April 16-19) featured the participation of 350 athletes, including competitors from Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
