SIBU: STM Lottery Sdn Bhd (STM Lottery) continued its annual Chinese New Year Ang Pow Donation Campaign on Saturday with a distribution event held here, bringing festive joy and support to 350 needy senior citizens in the local community.
The event held at Sibu Foochow Association’ s premises, Jalan Salim, forms part of STM Lottery’s nationwide Chinese New Year outreach programme, which spans 50 cities and towns across Malaysia.
STM Lottery Headquarters auditor, Lim Wan Lin, STM Lottery Assistant Sarawak Regional Manager, Henry Liew, and STM Lottery Sibu District Area Sales officer, Max Ching. were in attendance at the distribution event.
Each beneficiary received an ang pow, a festive mini hamper and mandarin oranges, symbolising the STM Lottery’s goodwill and best wishes for health, prosperity and happiness in the Chinese New Year.

A press release from STM Lottery stated that through this initiative, the company aims to ensure that underprivileged senior citizens are able to celebrate the upcoming festive season with dignity, warmth and happiness.
This year’s six-day donation campaign is expected to benefit approximately 19,680 needy senior citizens nationwide.
Under its ‘Helping Hands’ programme, the company has allocated approximately RM1.53 million towards the implementation of this charitable initiative.
The donation campaign is one of STM Lottery’s longest-running community programmes and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), as well as its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.
“Through this campaign, STM Lottery will continue to play an active role in supporting social sustainability by reaching out to vulnerable communities, especially underprivileged senior citizens who may otherwise be left behind during the festive season,” the statement added.
